I just learned of very exciting news via Hyperallergic: The Codex Mendoza, a sixteenth-century manuscript filled with valuable information about Aztec culture has been fully digitized in a collaboration between Mexico’s National institute for Anthropology and History and the Bodleian Library at Oxford, King’s College. The importance of the Codex Mendoza can hardly be overstated. It is an invaluable resource for any student of Aztec art history. I encourage you to have a look, even if this isn’t your area of interest or expertise. It’s a stunning historical resource and the digitization is a work of art as well, with many impressive interactive features. Do take a look!
