More than a decade ago, I owned stationary with a Jane Austin quotation on the front and a blank inside. The quotation read, “To sit in the shade on a fine day is the most perfect refreshment.” The sentiment couldn’t be truer, and I used those cards up quickly.

Today, as I sit at my desk in my shady office looking out at the sun bouncing off the leaves of my neighbor’s cherry tree, I feel rather lucky to have a taste of that “most perfect refreshment” as I work.
